2011 Colorado State Fair Jr. Livestock Sale
|
Well, this is the big one—an election year and you know what that means—EVERYONE
will want to attend the JUNIOR LIVESTOCK SALE AT THE COLORADO STATE FAIR ON
TUESDAY, AUGUST 30, 2011. So, use our new registration and payment system and
sign up right now. Please, forward tis invitation to friends and colleagues. We
want to raise a lot of money to spend at the sale.
We will meet at DEL FRISCO’S DOUBLE EAGLE STEAK HOUSE
IN GREENWOOD VILLAGE AT
11:00 for a light lunch and then board our buses for Pueblo at 12:15. (Livestock
sale begins at 3:35, buses leave for the return to Denver at 6:00, 6:30, and
7:00.) Enjoy good food, good music, great companionship, and great fun—and help
some very worthy youths! You will also get to spend some quality time with
prominent businessmen and women as well as a few political leaders.
FirstBank has joined us as a sponsor this year and is waiving their credit card
fees. This means that you can make the $500 contribution online using your
credit card. We still accept checks, but many of you wanted to pay with a credit
card. The money will go into an eligible 501c3, the Colorado State Fair Express,
and then onto the kids. Many of you asked for a receipt from a charitable entity
and this year we can provide one. (That way you will not have to call to ask for
one.)
Coors has graciously agreed to donate hats for all new Rustlers again this year.
If you have never attended before, let us know on the registration form and
provide your hat size. (There is a table converting inches to hat size on the
registration site.)
New Rustlers will also receive a vintage Rockmount Ranch Wear western shirt
courtesy of Larry A. Mizel and M.D.C. Holdings/Richmond American Homes—just
select your size on the form. We are using the same shirts as last year because
they are so gorgeous, and they have become our trademark. Everyone knows you are
a Denver Rustler when they see you in your shirt.
For those who have attended before, but would like a new hat and/or shirt this
year, you’ll find the opportunity to purchase them—along with beautiful Denver
Rustlers belt buckles—during the registration process.
Please reserve your spots now by going to www.DenverRustlers.org and following
the link to the online registration form! We really want to see you, but will
accept your money even if you cannot attend. If you cannot attend, but would
still like to contribute, just visit the registration form and select “Donation
Only” or send a check payable to Colorado State Fair Express to the address
below.
We are keeping last years schedule so that all of us old cowboys and cowgirls
can get home at a reasonable time. The Fair is trying some new things to speed
up the sale. We are also having our contest (the game is still a secret) outside
the Events Center, right next to the red carpet welcome, with great photo ops
for those of you who think you are real cowboys or cowgirls.
Since its inception, the Denver Rustlers have raised over one million dollars
for the Champion Junior Livestock Sale, and supported some of Colorado’s finest
youth as they showcase their livestock to earn money for their college
education. The Denver Rustlers also support the Kids Café, so you can help some
great kids and have a GREAT TIME.
We’re looking forward to seeing you and your friends who want to become Denver
Rustlers on August 30st!
Sincerely,
Larry A. Mizel, Tim Schultz, Dick Robinson, Frances Koncilja & Gary Levine
